The Red Devils Poised to Secure Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has six months left on her contract, is known as a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. This signing is viewed as a major coup for the WSL team.
Departure from Munich was expected since she appeared to be fighting back tears while applauding the club's supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading forwards. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's signing should represent a significant uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international comes at a time when United seem to be building positive momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes feature securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023.
