Esteemed Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Finn, who featured in beloved television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
